How to Achieve the Best Image Quality with HarborUpdated 11 days ago

To ensure the best possible image quality with your Harbor Camera, follow these recommendations:

Optimal Camera Placement

  • Position the Camera 3-6 feet away from your little one.

  • Avoid placing objects within the Camera’s view that could reflect IR light, as this may cause the image of your little one to appear out of focus.

  • Mount the Camera so that it has a clear view of most of the crib or bed, without obstructions like crib slats.

  • A wall or flat mount is ideal. If you need more flexibility, use our floor stand adapter with any 1/4" screw mount. Do not mount the Camera directly on the crib.

  • Adjust the Camera angle to ensure IR light is directed where your little one sleeps. A slightly higher angle than expected often produces the best results.

Additional Considerations

  • Crib Sheets & Patterns: Complex crib-sheet patterns can sometimes affect video compression, leading to unexpected visual artifacts.

  • Circular grommet: if the black circular grommet is not properly seated around the lens, it can lead to some strange IQ artifacts due to IR reflections such as white areas. This is unexpected, so please let our team know if you observe this.

If you've followed these steps and are still experiencing low image quality—especially at night—please send our team a fully zoomed-out example image for further assistance.
